Syllabus

The syllabus used at Eamac Ju-Jitsu Club is the official East Anglian Bushido Ju-Jitsu area syllabus. The format of this has been based on and adapted from the original BJJA syllabus.

All students are told from their first training session that the syllabus is only part of what they will need for progress through the grades.  At Eamac we believe that any student can be taught a compilation of techniques for white belt, yellow belt etc in a relatively short period of time.  However this does not give them the in-depth knowledge and understanding of the art that they will require to develop into knowledgeable, confident and capable martial artists.

Our aim is to give the student a comprehensive understanding of what they are doing and why they are doing it; rather than a parrot fashion copy and forget style.

All students are encouraged to challenge what they are taught and to conduct a "what if analysis" to every technique that they practice.

This style of teaching means that the average student training on a regular basis could expect to gain a black belt in approximately six years.
